Bling Fling Charity Walk and Party
The Bling Fling was inspired by Aberdeen Evening Express theatre writer Sonja Rasmussen, and planned with the help of six of her friends Janine Murray, Lesley Whitehouse, Lisa Thomson, Pam Fowler and Lorraine Clark. After the 10K walk along the Old Deeside Railway Line, walkers then returned to stovies at the Duthie Park. The walkers then chilled out in the Winter Gardens with some great entertainment, therapies and endless supplies of pink fizz served up by pink cowboys and topless waiters. So far over £67 thousand pounds has been raised. The Bling Fling will be taking place next year and will be bigger and better. Great Wall of China Fundraising Walk for Cancer Research
Lou McWilliam’s recap of the week’s walking with a fantastic group from Australia, organised by Inspired Adventures (www.inspiredadventures.com.au). Fundraising for Australian Cancer Research Foundation (www.acrf.com.au). Started at Jugongguan Pass on September 23, finished at Simatai on September 28, 2007. This filming was done after completing the 6-day trek, at Mutianyu.
