I am registering with a charity which helps pet owners (and pets)?

Volunteers for the Cinnamon trust offer help to elderly or terminally ill pet owners doing such things like walking dogs.

I received a registration pack today and it asks me if i have ever been taken to court or cautioned by the police. When i was 12 (i am 15 now), i was caught shoplifting; i am truly sorry for the damage i caused and have changed. Will this effect my chances of "working" with the Cinnamon Trust? I would also like to do other charity work, specifically working in a local charity shop; will they ask these details?

I may be mistaken, but I believe that your juvenile records are sealed and you do not have to report it. However, it is always best to be honest. Put down what you've told us here: it was 3 yrs ago and you have matured and changed. I think its commendable that you want to do this! My dad died 10 years ago after several months under hospice care. Then his two dogs and one cat moved in with me. Throughout dad's illness the pets did not get the attention and care that they needed.
