Is it possible to walk a half marathon (13.1miles) in 3.5hours?
I’m taking part in the run to the beat half marathon and I’m just thinking if I walk a mile every 15 minutes then I would complete the course in 3 hours and 15 minutes! Doesn’t sound too unreasonable does it walking a mile every 15minutes!
Has anyone ever completed a marathon/half marathon what are you’re tips for getting to the finish line?
Yes, it is possible to walk 4 miles an hour, however, unless you have been training it is going to be very difficult for you to walk 13 miles.
I have done some 1/2s, but I never walked.
If you have enough time before the race, start a training program where you can run easy for a mile and then walk for a mile.
If you can’t run then just walk, but try to maintain your 4 mph pace until your body is used to doing that for several miles.
I would suggest you use the run/walk method, and take part in each water stop to drink and stretch a little.
