In May 2009, Kids for a Better Future organized a walkathon in Prospect Park, Brooklyn. This was in solidarity with Kids Against DOW-Carbide. Kids for Better Future is a child-run organization run by Akash Visvanath Mehta that organizes and fundraises for various child-related issues all over the world. Children Against Dow-Carbide is an organisation of the children born to the survivors of the 1984 Bhopal Gas Disaster and the victims of the water poisoned due to the waste abandoned at the Union Carbide factory site in Bhopal, India.

The Haunted Hereford Investigation Team organised 2 charity ghost walks on the 1st October 09 in aid of the Wish Upon A Star fund. Haunted Hereford have had amazing support from the local media for this charity walk , members of the team were also interviewed live on air at the BBC Hereford and Worcester radio studios where they talked about the ghost walk and charity they were fundraising for. The 2 walks were a success and they raised just over £120.00. Due to the popularity and success of the walk, Haunted Hereford will now make this a yearly event. www.haunted-hereford.co.uk

Teens Blast Stigma and Have a Blast Doing It!
6th Annual Erika’s Lighthouse Walkathon.What started as a walk around the Washburne Middle School playground has evolved into a 2-mile, fun and information filled afternoon, including walkers from as far away as Barrington, Downers Grove, Chicago, Lake Forest and Antioch. The New Trier Volunteer Center Junior Board sent a group. There was even a team of Washburne teachers! “We encourage dogs to come walk, too!,” says Ginny Neuckranz, Board President and co-founder with husband Tom.
