Walkathon News Conference 3 of 6

The Joseph Littles-Nguzo Saba Charter School (JLNSCS) will announce the beginning of a National Walkathon by its 69 year-young Chairman and Co-founder, Baba Amefika D. Geuka. Mr. Geuka will walk from West Palm Beach, Florida to the White House to petition President Barack Obama and His Secretary of Education, Arne Duncan, two public servants, to acknowledge that African-Centered Education (ACE) and educators should be entitled to share in public financial support of education as any other groups or segments of citizenry. Equally important in the petition, is for President Obamas
recognition of African-Centered Education, a model proving that Children of African descent should have their formal education rooted in their own heritage, history and culture. Similar to
those privileges exercised for education in Jewish & Catholic Schools.
