I sell items at craft fairs. I have made pink ribbon pins and stood in front of supermarkets handing them out. People usually give me money in exchange for the pin. I send out a lot of e-mails to friends. It does take a lot of work, especially in this economy. But it is worth it. When you see the survivors at closing ceremonies you know all your time and effort were well spent.

how did you come up …
how did you come up with all of the money? my husband and i want to do the one in D.C. in 09, but i don’t know how we will come up with $3600. we live in a small town and it’s snowing until march, so outside fundraisers are kind of out. how do you do it?

I didn’t walk 2008 ( I did walk 2006 and 2007. I plan on crewing 2009! I do hate that Manhattan bridge!! lol!

Mostly women walk. …
Mostly women walk. Don’t know why. Men are there as crew members – team “Men With Heart”. You’ll see them in the video of the pictures I took at the Boston 2008 walk. The are manning the rest stops, directing traffic and working security. The walk couldn’t function without them.
