Try googling &#039;event coordinator,&#039; &#039;race organizer&#039; in your specific area.

If that doesn&#039;t help, then you need to:

Find a venue for the event......if it is going to be on public thoroughfares you need a city permit of some kind..if you were going to have, say, a walk around a track, you would need permission of the school involved

Set a date

Find sponsors to help defray costs, perhaps have prizes for the top fund raiser, help with costs of tee shirts

Put out flyers for participants

You need to think about logistics of signing people up, getting bibs for particpants, having aid stations along the way etc.
