a walk for charity?

can anyone start one? i mean, i want to have one and donate to the Rape and Abuse Campaign, but idk how to start one or anything, plus im only 14 so id obviously have my moms help. any knowledge on how to get one started?

First, many communities have organizations that do just that: organize fund raising events.

Try googling ‘event coordinator,’ ‘race organizer’ in your specific area.

If that doesn’t help, then you need to:

Find a venue for the event……if it is going to be on public thoroughfares you need a city permit of some kind..if you were going to have, say, a walk around a track, you would need permission of the school involved

Set a date

Find sponsors to help defray costs, perhaps have prizes for the top fund raiser, help with costs of tee shirts

Put out flyers for participants

You need to think about logistics of signing people up, getting bibs for particpants, having aid stations along the way etc.

You might also contact the charity itself to see if they could help.
