In the late 1990s, I guess the economy was good enough some Texas welfare institutions were advertising, I umed to get their numbers up. Bureaucrats’ incentive is to keep people poor to keep their budgets, their perks, their jobs etc.

Many of the “private charitable organizations” these days get government funding. It takes some research to find out which ones are good and efficient… those wouldn’t be govt. funded. Some people even think UNICEF is private and good!
