Can I use the Leslie Sansone Walk-at-home videos in place of walking outside to train for half-marathon?
Hi, I am just starting to train for a half-marathon (13 miles) which I will be doing next year. I am starting to train so far in advance because I am SO out of shape! Anyway, I found a good training schedule to start training to do the 13k – for several weeks I will be walking just 1,2 or 3 miles on weekdays. Would it be OK for me to substitute the Leslie Sansone walk-off-the-pounds videos in place of walking outside? Is that as effective? She has 1,2 and 3 mile videos but I do not know how they measure up to walking outside. We live in the midwest so the weather can be unpredictable, and this would be a great way for me to train when the weather is bad. I would appreciate all advice or thoughts on this..

OK runingwitknifes, it doesn’t matter if you are in the heat or in the AC, either way you will work up a sweat with these videos. I love walking with these videos! She also adds some extra toning moves with 2 lb. water weights (sometimes included with the video) and you can really feel it in your arms and legs. I don’t know how they measure up to walking outside but I would think as long as you keep moving and keep your heart rate up you should be good. When it gets closer to your marathon you can start training outside to get a feel of actually walking on the pavement for miles instead of the floor at home. The videos are kinda old and have dumb music but for some reason I stay intrested. Good Luck!

you need to get use to the heat
when u do the video you will be in the ac and get tempted to stop
