FractalFusion’s Mega Man X “glitched password, walkathon” TAS in 16:56.88

***READ BEFORE WATCHING***

This tool-assisted speedrun by FractalFusion aims to beat Mega Man X by using a glitched password and walking all the way as fast as possible.

The author’s comments on the run can be found here: http://tasvideos.org/3620S.html

It was made on an emulator, using frame-by-frame shooting, savestates, and rerecords to overcome things like reaction time and human error. As such, it is purely a form of entertainment, and is not designed to show skill.

Any anti-TAS comments will be deleted. Seriously, if you’re just going to call it “cheating” or something equally ridiculous, don’t even bother commenting at all, because I’ll just block you. Save us both a bit of time.

    Somewhere out there …
Somewhere out there must have been a tester who played through the game without dash boots, got to the end credits, recorded and reproduced a graphical glitch in the ending, and after a bug report was written and submitted, got a response that this was a “feature”…or at least until the next iteration.

    That’s not even the …
That’s not even the best part. Since they never drew legs for his dashing animation without the boots until X2, his legs just vanish when he dashes before the credits.
    AND YOU
    AS MEGAMAN X’S TORSO

  • ziminaiman December 12th, 2012 at 9:07 pm

I love how he has …
I love how he has dash boots at the ending. “There’s no way they can skip dash boots, so just make the sprite have them.”

    Sigma BGM1 > Mega …
Sigma BGM1 > Mega Man 2 Dr. Wily BGM1. I approve just because this run allows more of the stage musics to play.
